Where is the System Log?

 

If your 2700 hub has v4 or v5 firmware, navigate to the Management Console web page:

home/mdc                       

You may be required to enter your system password.   If you have installed the SingTel firmware, the default password is '2wire'.

Then scroll down the page and click on 'Detailed Log'

 

 

 


How do I change my ISP dynamically assigned IP address?

 

The majority of ISPs allocate a dynamic (DHCP) IP address to your router.   A permanently 'static' IP address is often an extra cost option with some ISPs.

Some ISPs such as PlusNet, go as far as offering a rather 'sticky' dynamic IP address.   ie. if you have the need to restart your router, or you lose your ADSL connection due to line noise momentarily, there is a very good chance you will re-acquire the same IP address.

If your ISP provides a 'sticky' dynamic IP address to your router and you wish to change the IP address for whatever reason, you may be able to do so by stopping and restarting your PPP session.  Please note this may not work with all ISPs.
